Bird Walk at Nockamixon State Park
Do breeding codes F, H, S, S7, M or NY in eBird make any sense to you? Recently Barb Stollsteimer and Vicky Mahmoud helped fellow birders decipher birding codes for the PA Bird Atlas by leading them on a bird walk at Tyler State Park. Maybe you missed this educational event or maybe you just want to go birding. Either way, this is the bird walk for you!
Join Barb and Vicky at Nockamixon State Park on Friday, July 10 at 8 am, starting at Parking Lot 13, and find a variety of breeding birds in Bucks County. Learning and participating in this citizen birding project is important for birds and conservation so scientists can dig into the data from this birding atlas and compare it to the two previous events, one in the 1980s and one in early 2000s. Information can help with conservation efforts and protect endangered bird species.
Birders of all levels are welcome!
Be sure to bring a pair of binoculars, bug spray, and sunscreen. Be prepared for the weather, so bring a hat and water.
