Become a “Bird Safe Volunteer” to Install Bird-Safe-Retrofits to Peace Valley Nature Center Glass Windows
Volunteering Schedule below:
-
Wash all ground-level windows, except those with existing CollidEscape tape.
Ideally, volunteers could work in pairs, with one person washing and one drying/detailing.
We’ll need basic window-cleaning supplies, buckets, squeegees, towels, and access to water.
-
Suggested crew: 6–8 volunteers
Remove netting and apply Feather Friendly to the main lakeside windows overlooking the fenced area.
Remove existing CollidEscape tape from the remaining windows.
Wash and prep those windows for Saturday’s demonstration.
It may make sense to divide volunteers into separate installation, tape-removal, and cleaning teams.
-
Suggested crew: 3–4 people
Conduct the Feather Friendly application demonstration on the lakeside windows.
We’ll want at least one experienced person leading the demonstration, with additional volunteers assisting with materials, window preparation, and visitor questions.
-
Suggested crew: 4–6 volunteers Plus General Services
Apply Feather Friendly to the remaining windows.
We can schedule this based on how much we accomplish before October 10 and what we learn from the initial installations
