Fall Migration Bird Walk at Nockamixon State Park

It is August and a birder’s mind is already thinking of fall migration. Join Vicky Mahmoud and Rachel Nazaruk,  Nockamixon State Park Environmental Education Specialist, at Nockamixon State Park on Thursday, September 24. We will be meeting at Parking Lot 1 from 8 am to 10 am. 

We cannot make promises, but we are hoping for some warblers and other migrating birds. Last year at the end of September, this area had Black and white, Redstart, Cape May, Black-throated blue, Magnolia, Blackpoll, and Black-throated green warblers, among others. The trail is mostly flat but may include some hills. The total walk should be less than two miles. 

Remember to bring a hat, sunscreen, bugspray, and water. Bring binoculars, but if you don’t have any, Nockamixon SP has at least a dozen pairs of binoculars for folks to borrow.
