October Meeting with Nick Lund - The State of Maine’s Loons

The Common Loon is one of Maine’s most iconic species for good reason. An inhabitant of clear, remote, northern lakes, this species is found in more lakes in Maine than in any other New England state. And for the last 35 years, Maine Audubon has coordinated an annual loon count utilizing the skills of more than 1000 volunteers. A Maine native, Nick Lund is Maine Audubon's Advocacy and Outreach Manager. He's a birder and nature writer, the author of several books including the American Birding Association Field Guide to the Birds of Maine, and a graduate of the University of Maine School of Law.
